I designed this book cover for a hypothetical reprint of Kurt Vonnegut's classic, Mother Night. This metaphorical image of an Iron Cross, the Stars and Stripes, and the Hammer and Sickle drawn on a window were mentioned as an aside in the novel, and I thought it would be a perfect timage for the front cover. I added a mask, since deceptive appearances and spies play a major role in the narrative and themes of the book.
